King - 72” wide x 84” long * Eastern King - 76” wide x 80” long The size of bed you choose will be determined by its size and the number of individuals sleeping on it. It is essential to measure your room in order to know how much space you will be working with to walk around the bed and easily access closets and other bedroom doors. Children’s twin size beds are most commonly made of wood. You can carve out more space by using bunk and trundle beds. A trundle bed slides in and out from up under the bed and is useful for sleepovers. A combination of couch and traditional bed are incorporated into a daybed. The frame wraps around three sides and can be lined with pillows for a more comfortable backrest in the daytime. It uses a traditional mattress for comfortable sleeping at night. A low-profile sleeping surface is provided by the design of a platform bed, unlike traditional beds with tall headboards and low footboards. Its flat horizontal surface is raised to support your mattress rather than a box spring. The space beneath features maximization of an organized storage area under the bed, it may have either doors and or drawers. Fifteen inches wider than a twin, full beds provide room if two people are sleeping in the same bed, although each will have less space than when single on a twin. Each individual would still have less space than on a twin when sleeping together on a queen size bed. The maximum allowance of space for two people comfortably is obtained with a King size bed. Keep in mind that this ample bed takes up a good bit of bedroom floor space. Make sure to measure to see if you have ample room to maneuver around it in your bedroom. Chests and Dressers Chests and Dressers serve the same purpose for storage. You may choose drawers that are lined vertically in a chest or horizontally in a dresser. Keep in mind; however that dressers provide a lot of storage room by extending horizontally and vertically. The oversized dressers here are called mule chests provide various storage compartments such as drawers, shelves and doors. Chests will generally have a single column of drawers stacked one on top of the other. However, many manufacturers do offer various other features on this type of traditional chest. A Man’s Chest will offer a combination of large double doors that have storage shelves and drawers. This unit is much wider than a standard chest. One door and one drawer are generally featured on a sweater chest. Although it is similar in width to a standard chest, a sweater chest includes large shelves hidden behind a door which is great for storing your folded sweaters. There are lingerie chests perfect for storing you sexy wardrobe, since this unit is much narrower than a regular chest with a narrow column of drawers. It is essential to pay attention to the drawers when you choose your chest or dresser. In order to store all you belongings comfortably you need one that is large enough to accommodate you, since stuffing your drawers full and then forcing them to close will cause damage. Mirrors You will have to consider the size of your dresser if you plan to sit your bedroom mirror on top of it. You can attach the mirror to your dresser or hang it on a wall in the room. You may also be interested in a tri-mirror that attaches to your dresser. It design incorporates 3-hinged adjustable mirrors. You will also find available a full size cheval floor standing mirror will work nicely at home. Night Stands There are various design options when choosing your night stands. Most often they feature doors, shelves and drawers or any combination of each. You will want to choose those that will be most useful for you daily. It should be tall enough that you can see and reach, whether you are reaching for the table lamp or alarm clock while on your bed or one that is just as tall as your bed is.
